Brand strategy & naming
Find your position in the market before choosing a name.
Market research, positioning and names that clear trademark screening and real-people testing before you commit.
What it is
We map your market, decide where the brand should stand and develop names that clear trademark screening and real conversations with your audience. You choose with evidence, and you can defend the choice in any boardroom.
Who it’s for
For companies about to commit to a name or a direction.
- You're launching a product or a company and need a name that works in more than one language.
- You're opening a new venue, line or sub-brand that should sit inside the family without copying it.
- Your market is crowded and nobody can say in one sentence why you're different.
- You're about to rebrand and need to know what to keep before anything changes.
What’s included.
Fixed scope, fixed price, written into the proposal before we start.
- Market and competitor research: the category, the shelf or the screen, and what each competitor teaches us
- A perceptual map that shows where the open space is
- Two positioning routes, each with its trade-offs and our recommendation
- A naming strategy: candidate names with the reasoning behind each one
- Trademark and search screening for every candidate (Google, OSIM, EUIPO, in the relevant Nice classes)
- Name validation with your audience, in qualitative interviews
- Brand platform: purpose, values, personality and tone of voice, with do and don't examples
- The final strategy document and the brief for the identity

- Validate · 1–2 weeks: Interviews with people from your audience, a shortlist, and a clear winner with the reasons.

Questions.
Can you guarantee the name is free to register?
Only a registration can do that. We screen every candidate on Google and against OSIM and EUIPO records in the relevant classes, flag anything close and prepare the logo files for your application. Before you file, we recommend a search by a trademark attorney.
Do we need research if we already know our market?
You know your customers better than anyone. Research shows how the market looks from the outside, which is how a new customer sees it, and it makes the final choice easy to defend inside your company.
How do you test names?
In interviews with people who match your audience: how they say it, what it makes them think of, what they confuse it with. For Nekta, 60% chose the winning name in the final round, and one candidate was dropped because people kept hearing a famous brand in it.
Can the name work outside Romania?
That's usually the brief. We check pronunciation and meaning in the languages you'll sell in, and we include international respondents when the market calls for it.
What if we don't like any of the names?
We go back to the route, not to a random list. Feedback is unlimited within the scope, and the research tells us where to look next.
Do we keep the research?
Yes. Every document is yours, editable and as PDF.
Let’s talk about your project.
Tell us where the brand stands today and where the business is going. You’ll get a clear recommendation and a fixed price.
